Well it’s been 3 months since our last trip – the longest hiatus from the caravan since covid! New car and tow bar issues prevented our last trip. The ‘van has been in for some damp repair work, it’s yearly service and also an actuator replacement – all tying up our time when we should have been away. Never mind, it’s good to be back \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rexton junior made its maiden voyage with no problems, just like Rexton senior – the tow was relaxing and enjoyable. We’ve bought some new mirrors for this car, namely the EMUK or Oppi mirrors, which I have to say are much better than the old Milenco ones. They fit nicer on the mirror, are more stable and offer a good view. Expensive, but worth it. The spare wheel is now on the roof rack, which has made a big difference. No more lugging that thing around when reconfiguring the car. Indeed for this trip, although we didn’t bring the bike, I stull put the awning and cloth bags on the roof, as we still had a couple of extra items to return back to the ‘van following the work done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We picked the ‘van up from Motorhome Kings, as they had just finished repairing the motor mover actuator. Made our way through the tunnel and used the paddles on the car to engage engine braking, much nicer than Rexton senior. Journey to site was good with no holdups. We booked in and decided to go for our usual pitch again. Pleased to say the motor mover was working fine now! We didn’t plan on doing anything, just to relax and enjoy the time away. Weather on Saturday was lovely, nice and sunny and warm so we enjoyed breakfast and a BBQ, whilst doing some outside reading. Sunday was a little wetter, but hey ho. I made good use of the dishwashing area this visit, as I had somehow misplaced monsieur waste pipe during all the recent shenanigans, so didn’t want to ditch sink water onto the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The site have made a few little changes: the wash block doesn’t require a key now, which is much better; the cleaning times have been reduced to 1hr at 10:15am; the family room is now used as a service toilet during cleaning; where the bins once stood now contain a pleasant display of watering cans fitted with solar lights. The site as usual was kept very well, with the grass well maintained. Upon arrival, the games room was actually in action hosting a McMillan coffee morning, which is a great idea. Shame it was on our arrival day and was due to stop at 3pm. There is also a pizza van which visits the site on a Tuesday & Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Looking forward to returning at Christmas if we can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
